My name is Oriole Saah and I am running to serve as Treasurer of SEIU Local 500 ... again. Please select me as the best steward of your Union Membership dues. My record shows that I take the management of your Local's finances and its ability to serve you very seriously. I authored and the Board instituted an Expense Policy designed to empower the Board to fulfill its budget oversight role. More recently, I've begun to work to create internal policies needed to bring the Local into compliance, and keep us in compliance, with Department of Labor rules. If reelected, I will continue to endure the current resistance to this effort, because our dues should benefit members, not pay fines for not following the rules.

Mi trayectoria demuestra que me tomo muy en serio la gestión de las finanzas de su Local y su capacidad para servirles. Initiated SEIU Local 500 Expense policy, subsequently adopted by Executive Board. The policy provides greater accountability for spending and improves budget oversight and implementation.

Participated in the development of Executive Board policy to guide appointments to fill Executive Board vacancies. If reelected, I will work to ensure that this policy is actively applied as needed.

Participated in full contract bargaining for MCPS. Prepared to do so again, if reelected.

I started at MCPS as a Help Desk Specialist. My 24 years of dedication, knowledge, integrity, and willingness to do what needs to be done enables me to work my way to my current position as an IT System Specialist at Wheaton High School.
In addition, I recently completed three terms (the limit) as the Treasurer of the Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Associations (MCCPTA), am embarking on two years as the Albert Einstein High School PTSA Treasurer, and served as Campaign Treasurer for Lynne Harris, former member of the Board of Education.
Empecé en MCPS como Especialista en Soporte Técnico. Mis 24 años de dedicación, conocimiento, integridad y disposición para hacer lo necesario me permitieron ascender hasta mi puesto actual como Especialista en Sistemas de TI en la Escuela Secundaria Wheaton.
